Giraffe Global News Update

Cathay Pacific operates six business and first class lounges at Hong Kong International Airport (“HKG”). They are arguably some of the best airport lounges in the world. Unfortunately, due to decreased demand from the novel 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), they’re closing three out of six lounges:

• First Class Lounges
  • The Pier, First – closed effective Feb 17, 2020
  • The Wing, First
• Business Class Longes
  • The Bridge – closed effective Feb 17, 2020
  • The Deck – closed effective Feb 17, 2020
  • The Pier, Business
  • The Wing, Business

Overall Verdict

First Class Giraffe Concerned

This giraffe loves enjoying Cathay Pacific’s dan dan noodles and champagne at their Hong Kong lounges. While the lounge closures are certainly justified it means my giraffe friends and I will be limited to only three lounges on our next trip through HKG.
